A little About Me

        Personal

Hello, I have been called Chip my entire life but my real name is Garland Ben Foscue IV. I was born in 1967 and I have lived in Sherman TX most of my life. I own and have lived in the same house for about 20 years, I am not going anywhere. I live alone with my German Shepherd, she is a very smart dog and good companion, she loves to patrol the yard and keeps a sharp eye out for anything. Mostly cats, ha ha, but she actually plays with them. She has 2 cat friends that visit daily. I am a foodie, love to cook. I have just about anything one would need to prepare food. Sailing was another passion, I don't do too much anymore but I still have my 3 Regatta Trophies - 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Oh, and by the way, if you ever happen to see my house, you cannot judge my work by my house, ha ha. Very seldom do I want to come home and do the same thing I do everyday.

Business

I started Chip's Remodeling at the beginning of 2015. I have over 30 years experience in construction, remodeling and home maintenance. That is not including all the elective courses I started in middleschool such as woodworking, metalworking, drafting, etc. As a teenager I would help my father with his business "Rent-a-Handyman", running around Sherman working on houses. I remember the first thing he taught me about cutting wood, I was 6 yrs old and he said "I am going to cut this one just a little long, because it is easier to take more off than it is to add it back on"

My first real construction job at 18 yrs old was steel buildings, which included schools, skating rinks, gymnasiums, etc. Back then we would ride the steel up. I am a pro painter, I was a Foreman for a commercial/industrial paint company and a Foreman for a residential paint/remodeling company so I know finish work. I also worked for a glass company for 3 years, I did both residential and commercial. In between these jobs I have helped other Handymen and remodelers, my Brother has a remodeling company and we have worked together quit a bit over the years also. I have grown to love the remodeling homes the best, the satisfaction of seeing the customers face as the job progresses and especially when finished makes me feel like I have done something worthwhile.

I am a perfectionist when it comes to how things are constructed and the finish work, it has to be built right and look flawless. A lot of that is just me but it didn't hurt to work for an exceptional finish man and also my brother is the same way. My finish work will pass in the most upscale homes.
